We are committed to making to making the online laboratory magazine Analytik NEWS (analytik.news) accessible to all users.
Compliance Status
This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. The following measures have been implemented:
- Language declaration of the page (
lang="de") - Meaningful page titles and heading hierarchy
- Skip links to navigation and main content
- Structured landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer)
- Alternative texts for all content-relevant images
- Labelled form elements and buttons
- Descriptive link texts without "click here"
- Keyboard navigation and visible focus
Partial Conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AAA
Beyond the Level AA requirements, the following Level AAA success criteria are met:
- 2.4.9 – All link texts are meaningful without surrounding context
- 2.4.8 – The current position within the website is identifiable
- 2.2.3 – No time limits are imposed on users
- 2.3.2 – The page contains no flashing or flickering content
- 3.2.5 – Context changes only occur at the request of the user
Full conformance with Level AAA is not claimed, as certain criteria (e.g. a glossary for technical terms, enhanced colour contrast ratio of 7:1) are not fully achievable for a specialist magazine of this scope.
Known Limitations
Despite careful implementation, some limitations may exist in individual areas, particularly in older editorial content (e.g. missing alternative texts in archived articles). We are continuously working to improve accessibility.
