Opening Day of L.A.B. Attracts World-Class Industry Leaders
Leipziger Messe, organiser of L.A.B. - the trade fair and conference devoted to analysis, bio and laboratory equipment - announces a highly successful opening day of the inaugural event on 2 October, 2007. The London ExCeL venue today welcomed exhibitors from around the globe including the UK, France, Italy, the US, Germany as well as the Netherlands. Running parallel with the trade fair is an industry conference, where speakers discussed prevalent issues such as emerging technologies for the pharmaceutical laboratory, strategy and practice in the chemical industry and the process of laboratory equipment validation.
With a total of 88 exhibiting companies, pre-show exhibitor numbers reached the ambitious targets set by the organisers. Leading international manufacturers such as Eppendorf, SCHOTT DURAN, LAUDA Dr. R. Wobser, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Metrohm chose to exhibit alongside the high quality conference. Among the international visitors were professionals from the pharmaceutical and chemical industries as well as the food and drink sector, public and private sectors and industries using medical and environmental technologies.
A media breakfast this morning preceded the official opening of the exhibition, and journalists from a wide range of publications met with L.A.B. organisers Leipziger Messe, industry partners and conference speakers. "The large representation of international exhibitors is proof of the demand for a platform in the UK for European companies to meet with suppliers and end-users," comments Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of the Leipziger Messe. "The fair is the ideal event for cross-national business contacts and knowledge transfer."
The biennial L.A.B. conference and trade fair has been developed through international trade partnerships with GAMBICA, the British association for instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory technology, and SPECTARIS, the German industrial association for optical, medical and mechatronics technologies.
