Senior Chemist-Industrial Applications (m/f/d)



  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Three to seven years of experience working in a laboratory
  • Three to seven years of experience with industrial applications, lubricants, and coatings
  • Formulation and new product development experience
  • Must be able to evaluate criteria for project goals, determine associated costs, and implementation
  • Experience managing projects for a range of stakeholders with multi-national, cross-functional teams


  • Work autonomously under a lab manager to generate and design independent projects with medium complexity (e.g. perform assessment of technical data, identifying when results are unusual or suspect with the ability to be able to investigate the cause of suspect data and define and implement corrective actions)
  • Direct laboratory team members on the execution of projects as needed to meet project deadlines
  • Ensure proper usage of project evaluation and tracking tools to monitor and execute technical innovation and customer projects to ensure time-to-market is achieved in short cycles
  • Writes project reports and assist in the preparation of technical literature (technical articles, marketing literature, sales presentations, etc).
  • Regular interaction with global R&D colleagues regarding assigned segment projects as well as interaction with regional R&D colleagues from adjacent market segments (e.g. personal care, home care, crop solutions)
  • Introduce new ideas for innovation concepts for organization evaluation and selection
  • Continuously monitor for quality, process, project, and portfolio improvements for regional implementation
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Commercial Marketing, Technical Account Managers, Technical Colleagues)
