Scientist, Cancer Immunology (m/f/d)
Requirements:
- PhD in Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field with 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Strong skills in cell culture and aseptic techniques, as well as experience with the cultivation of primary human cells
- Experience in immunological techniques such as activation of T cells, viral vector generation, T cell transduction, and electroporation
- Experience with multicolor flow cytometry and assay development
- Experience with primary T cell-based assays (e.g. ELISPOT, MSD, cytotoxicity)
- Experience with in vivo mouse tumor models
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able embrace change, while working to produce key deliverables in accordance with project timelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate results to a diverse cross-functional audience
- Proactive, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills, appropriate sense of urgency and the ability to work independently
Supporting BioNTech's R&D team in the US by:
- Culturing of human T cells and cancer cell lines
- Engineering of T cells using viral and non-viral methods
- Performing functional and phenotypic characterization of engineered T cells by multicolor flow cytometry, MSD, and cytotoxicity assays
- Designing and executing cell-based functional assays to evaluate T cell modifications and combination therapies in vitro
- Developing in vivo models to study combination therapies with our TCR T cell therapy
- Tracking and compiling results in an electronic notebook
- Interacting with internal collaborators and external CROs
- Assisting with the training of lab personnel
- Presenting results to other scientific teams
