Basic Qualifications
  • Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree in the field of immunology, mucosal immunology, autoimmunity, or cell/molecular biology
  • Strong technical skills or expertise in one or more of the following areas: multi-color flow cytometry, complex functional assay using primary cells or cell lines, molecular biology (e.g. cloning, CRISPR/gene editing, protein overexpression), mouse models of inflammation and autoimmune diseases.

In this vital role, you will drive the discovery and validation of novel targets for the development of innovative medicines to treat autoimmune diseases with unmeet clinical needs. We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Associate Scientist to join the Inflammation Research Department at Amgen in South San Francisco (ASF).

In this role, you will be an integral member of a dynamic research team, collaborating with research scientists at multiple Amgen sites, and working closely with groups in other functional areas including Protein Science, in vivo Pharmacology and Computational Biology. In this position, you are expected to make major scientific laboratory-based contributions to the research goals of the department. You will have access to state-of-the art technologies and resources including single-cell omics, proteomics, human genetics and in vitro and in vivo model systems for translational research.

  • Planning and performing laboratory experiments
  • Analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory notebooks
  • Communicating and presenting results to cross functional teams
  • Collaborating with other research groups across the inflammation department
  • Contributing to writing manuscript and publishing in leading journals
