R&D Scientist (m/f/d)



  • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering or M.S. degree (same disciplines) with 3-5 years of relevant experience or B.S. degree with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Domain knowledge in chromatography and analytical chemistry
  • Desired experience in GC chromatography, stationary phases and surface deactivation to develop new GC products
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and thoroughly test and qualify new GC columns.
  • Proven skills in project management
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and globally to bring new products to market.
  • Ability to provide on-site direction and support during technology transfer to manufacturing.
  • Ability to provide production support when problems arise beyond the capabilities of the manufacturing group to solve.
  • Excellent verbal and written experience in English. Dutch preferred but not required

As the successful candidate your tasks will include:

  • Lead and support the design and development of new and innovative GC columns and related consumables using your broad analytical knowledge and skills.
  • Use your hands-on chromatography experience and creative thinking to solve complex and high impact design issues or problems.
    transfer technology from the R&D lab to manufacturing (from production of lab prototypes to a reproducible and economical, large scale production process)
  • Collaborating closely with the local R&D team as well as supporting projects as part of the global R&D team within CSD.
  • Participate, cooperate and contribute both independently and as part of a team
  • maintain appropriate laboratory notebooks, write reaction/production protocols, research reports and presenting work to R&D and management.
