Junior Scientist Research Immuno-Oncology (m/f/d)
Who Your are:
- PhD or MD-PhD in immunology or biology or in related fields
- Knowledge in cancer biology, immuno-oncology or immunology or autoimmune disease
- Having worked in at least one PostDoc position in the field of Immunology or Immune-Oncology, experience in a pharmaceutical company or biotech is a plus
- Experience in a variety of techniques of cellular and molecular biology, flow cytometry and experience with in vivo models
- Experience in multi-cellular human assay systems and/or practical knowledge in bioinformatics data mining
- Creative and flexible thinking, with excellent organizational skills and expertise to instruct and train staff
- Sense of responsibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic research environment
- Ability to work in teams as well as independently
- Proficient verbal/written communication and presentation skills in English
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support projects for the development of novel cancer therapeutics and bring in own innovative ideas in the field of Immuno-Oncology
- Perform characterization and detailed mode-of-action analyses to support anti-cancer drug development
- Establish novel human cellular and/or in vivo mouse models for the thorough evaluation of lead and development drug candidates
- Follow scientific developments in the field and propose novel target ideas for immune-oncological approaches
- Participate in Immuno-oncology target identification campaigns as well as design and execute strategies to validate novel drug targets as starting points for new drug discovery programs
- Plan and prioritize experiments and evaluate, interpret, present and publish scientific results as reports and in scientific journals
- Conduct IT-based data analyses (Excel, statistics program, biological data bases, [single cell] gene expression)
- Work and collaborate in a team with biologists, bioinformaticians and (bio)chemists in interdisciplinary life science projects across pharmaceutical division as well as with external academic partners, with a specific focus on collaboration with Joint Immunotherapy Laboratory at the DKFZ (Heidelberg)
