Senior Research Chemist (m/f/d)

  • Play a leading role in diagnostic product development and product improvement in the field of food safety and environment
  • Conduct feasibility studies and acquire/develop critical reagents
  • Design and execute the experimental plans and analyze the experimental data
  • Design and perform validation studies
  • Maintain good laboratory record and communicate experimental results verbally and in technical reports
  • Transfer the new products to manufacturing
  • Design and execute experiments to facilitate troubleshooting
  • Document the new product development procedures and results in compliance to the quality system.
  • Establish SOPs for assays/procedures and provide training
  • Comply with all safety and quality regulations
  • Contribute to laboratory maintenance and inventory management
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ph.D. in food science, chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering or closely related discipline
  • Expertise in food safety and environmental diagnostics
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in an industrial setting
  • Record of accomplishments in developing quantitative lateral flow immunoassays or other affinity-based diagnostic products
  • Hands-on experience with sample preparation and analytical instruments, including HPLC, LC/MS
  • In depth knowledge in antibody development and application
  • Extensive knowledge in protein chemistry and chromatography
  • Experience in assay qualification/validation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage new product development projects with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
