Scientist - Analytical Methods (m/f/d)


  • PhD with 0-5 years' experience in Analytical Chemistry, Formulation Sciences or related scientific disciplines
  • Must have a thorough understanding of VICH regulatory requirements and cGMP required by the FDA
  • Expertise on analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, GPC, LCMS, GCMS, KF and NMR
  • Expertise in analytical characterization skills such as TGA, DSC, FTIR, RAMAN, XRD, SEM-EDX, XRF, Texture Profile Analysis, Particle Size Analysis, Surface Area Analyzer, DVS, E-tongue Analysis and Rheology
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of core principles of analytical, physical, and organic chemistry with demonstrated track record of solving complex technical problems
  • Proven problem solving ability demonstrated via scientific publications, PhD dissertation, etc.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills via scientific publications and presentations in major scientific conferences (as 1st author)
  • Initiates, designs, interprets accurately, troubleshoots and completes routine and non-routine physicochemical, physical pharmaceutics and biopharmaceutics testing for drug substance pre-formulation characterization and interaction with excipients, early research formulation samples and clinical study formulation samples independently and efficiently with minimum supervision
  • Leads analytical project development in cross-functional pharmaceutical research and early development teams including attending project team meetings, planning and monitoring analytical activities, developing fit-for-purpose analytical methods to support testing of active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients and finished products
  • Effectively communicates and defends own work, orally and in writing, in the context of the company and team goals at meetings
  • Organizes and presents the results of work internally and externally
  • Understands and complies with safety, good (manufacturing, clinical, scientific, laboratory, etc.) practices, company affirmative action, applicable regulations and standard operating procedures and policies
  • Supervise junior analysts' analytical activities
  • Must be able to shift priorities and projects, as company's needs change
  • Proposes, evaluates, and implements new analytical technologies based off of self-knowledge and literature search of analytical technology development
  • Demonstrates a contemporary level of technical proficiency in analytical techniques for pre-formulation characterization and method development
  • Managing of internal and external partners in pre-formulation characterization
