Research scientist for microscopy assay development (m/w/d)


  • As part of our research and development team, you are responsible for the development of new immunofluorescent microscopy assays
  • In close interaction with our microscopy (MACSima, Ultramicroscope) and flow cytometry (MACSQuant) teams and other groups in R&D you specifically focus on new reagents and binder for a broad range of biomolecules to better characterize disease states in the field of cancer, regenerative medicine and autoimmunity
  • You suggest new developments, analyze and prioritize incoming requests for new microscopy assays, coordinate and manage the interface to all involved groups and perform, report and present the new findings to internal and external groups
  • You work in an interdisciplinary team and liaise and dialog closely with other departments including Engineering, Marketing and Production
  • Based on your interactions you develop your own creative ideas to help defining the strategy and implementing supportive technologies and future developments of assays in the field of microscopy
  • You hold a PhD in biology or biochemistry and have gained extensive and proven experience in the development and use of microscopy, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry techniques and microscopy assays
  • You have worked in the field of cancer and have a deep understanding of cancer cell biology
